Montreal – October 10, 2020

The SPVM from neighborhood station 27 carried out a door-to-door operation with residents and merchants of the Ahuntsic-Cartierville sector on October 1.

The purpose of the deployment was to gather information related to a series of events that occurred on August 2, 5 and 18.

During the operation led by Commander Francis Renaud, members of the senior management of the SPVM, including the SPVM director himself, Sylvain Caron, made a surprise visit to greet the troops on the ground. In addition to being used to collect information from citizens, this kind of door-to-door operation was also part of a program to secure Montreal neighborhoods and citizens, particularly in areas affected by various events involving guns in recent months. For the occasion that day, a mobile command post had been set up at Place de la Colombière and several socio-community agents of the SPVM and representatives of the CIUSSS as well as Info-Crime took part in the operation. The session that took place that day from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm was a success for the SPVM.
