Present during the event: the commander of PDQ 9 Martin Montour, the President-General Manager of Info-Crime Jean Touchette and the director of Saint-Luc school Stéphane Richard. The community relations officers of PDQ 9 held a kiosk to share prevention advice with students and offer pens. The stylus pen contains a drop-down banner with resources available 24/7.

VL CrayonCyberIntimidation 001The pen is the result of a collaborative project initiated in 2019 to develop a tangible prevention tool for youth. During past conferences, community relations officers noted that many young people had questions about increasingly diversified subjects and sometimes found themselves in distress following specific events. However, the officers did not have any resource materials available to distribute after their presentations.

Additionally, cyberbullying is a topic in constant demand for talks in schools. This problematic generates a lot of psychological distress for victims and their families. This new project responds to a crying need for help and assistance.

The neon green Cyberviolence pen has the words « Besoin d’aide, il y a des solutions pour toi » (Need help, there are solutions for you). The drop-down banner allows youth to have necessary resources at hand for various contexts: cyberbullying, harassment, dissemination of unwanted photos, sexting, threats, etc.
